Alessandro Nesta - A Detailed Overview
Early Life
Alessandro Nesta was born on March 19th, 1976 in Rome, Italy. From a very young age, he showed great interest and natural talent in football. He got his break in youth football when he was selected to join the youth team for his local side, Lazio.
Club Career - Lazio
Nesta's professional career began in 1993 with Lazio. He quickly became a first-team regular and helped the club to its first Serie A title in 2000. During his time at Lazio, he also won the Coppa Italia twice and the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup and Super Cup in 1999. Nesta was instrumental in defence for Lazio and was named Serie A Defender of the Year thrice, further establishing his reputation as a world-class centre back.
Club Career - Milan
In 2002, financial difficulties forced Lazio to sell Nesta to AC Milan. There, Nesta continued to thrive. In his first season, he helped Milan win the UEFA Champions League and the Coppa Italia. In total, Nesta would win two UEFA Champions League titles, two Serie A titles, and a FIFA Club World Cup with AC Milan. His time at Milan further solidified Nesta as one of the greatest defenders of his generation.
