Early Life
Alessandro Del Piero was born on November 9, 1974, in Conegliano, Veneto, Italy. He grew up in the small town of San Vendemiano. The son of Gino, an electrician, and Bruna, a housekeeper, he has a brother, Stefano, five years older, who was also a footballer. Alessandro started playing football at the young age of 7 in the youth system of local club San Vendemiano.
Youth Career
At 13 years of age, Del Piero moved to the youth team of Padova, a professional football club. After notable performances in the youth club, he made his Serie B (second division of Italian football) debut with Padova during the 1991-1992 season, at just 17 years old.
